Perhaps more now than ever, it is extremely important to properly stage any home that you are trying to sell. This is even true if your home is vacant. With the state of the market being what it is right now, you must set your property apart from the others in your area and one of the ways to do this is by properly staging your home.
What is staging? Well, have you ever been to a model home in a new home community perhaps? Notice how attractive and uncluttered it looked and how comfortable it appeared? This is because model homes are typically professionally staged which includes positioning furniture in such a way as to maximize the appeal of the home, decluttering, and hanging attractive but neutral artwork on the walls. Notice that there are no personal items such as personal or family photographs to identify the homes occupants. This way, you are free to envision yourself living there. This is what staging is all about: maximizing the appeal of your home by de-cluttering, properly positioning furniture, and removing all sorts of personal items.
As a professional real estate agent, I provide staging advice to all of my clients who list with me. It takes so much more to sell a home these days, and you want to make sure that you end up with an agent who is prepared to address each and every issue that might prevent your home from selling for top dollar and reaching its highest potential.
